The quad brush drill

I developed a new drill I am calling the quad brush drill. It came about because when I was running the nine point drill the killer blind was the one where they had to run a stretch on light cover then plunge into heavy cover about 10 yards to get to the blind, I did it cold for Prinz and he did NOT get that he was supposed to go through the obstacle. Q did a good job but only because I taught it first after seeing what Prinz did LOL.

Anyway I wanted a drill that would teach them to go into heavy cover if that was the line I had them on so I placed a stationary drop point in the middle of an asymmetrical patch of heavy cover then ran it from all sides (the “quad”) so they had four completely different entries. Just like any other drill there was one particular blind that was harder, they wanted to go a different way so they both got a lot out of the drill. I figure you could do it as a “quad pond” drill with the drop point in the middle of the pond and they have to go in from the different angles but it was really effective at teaching them for the brush. I can already think of several places where I can do that drill with a similar set up, you can modify it lengthen it etc.

My video only shows the first two blinds, but you can get the idea (it will be posted to the YouTube channel shortly).

Then we can go back and run a nine point drill with a blind going into heavier cover and they will know what to do, I am really happy with this little half step drill.
